The Energy Fund, created by former Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov, was subject to blocking sanctions by the US Treasury, OFAC reports.
The Energy Complex Development Fund was established in 2008. As stated on the website, he specializes in investing in the real sector of the economy of Russia and European countries.
The main investment focus is enterprises in the energy, oil and gas and mining industries, as well as infrastructure facilities.
Igor Yusufov headed the Ministry of Energy from June 16, 2001 to March 9, 2004. Then, until April 2011, he was the special representative of the Russian President for international energy cooperation and the Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on special assignments. Since 2011, he has been investing through the Energy fund.
